Some Things Don’t Change

Who would have thought "the good old days" were only a couple of years ago?

While cleaning out some files, I found a Laurel Mountain Basket Co newsletter dated September 2005.  Back in the good old days our newsletters were printed and sent via US post.  I was amazed at how much some things have changed and you will be amazed at the things that have not.

Here are a couple of lines from one of the articles:

“When I started to write this newsletter, I had planned to remind all of my clients that we deliver locally and that we ship almost anywhere. I was going to say that with the rising cost of gas today, all you had to do was pick up the phone and we would take care of not only creating a delightful gift for you but we would also take care of making sure it got delivered. I never dreamed that a horrible storm would hit the Gulf and cause gas prices to rise even higher!”

Well, being the inquisitive sort, I had to find out what the gas prices were in September of 2005. In September of 2005 the national average was $2.935. I checked to see what gas prices were in February 2005. He average was $1.70. Today the national average is $3.482.

Wait! There is good news….

Some things from “the good old days” haven’t changed. At Laurel Mountain Basket Co we still create delightful gift baskets and we still deliver locally and ship almost anywhere. And all you have to do is pick up the phone.

There’s even better news. We haven’t increased our local delivery charges since we opened the Studio in 2001.

Today, you can save even more by calling Laurel Mountain Basket Co when you need that perfect gift for an upcoming wedding, baby shower, anniversary or birthday. Just pick up the phone and call 413-527-1243 and we will do the rest.

Operators are standing by... not really, it's only me, and that's another good thing that hasn't changed.  When you call, you talk directly to the person with years of design experience who can help you choose the perfect gift.
